Theft from Vehicle due to Anti-Theft CashCard IU Cover???

Recently, I saw quite a number of Crime Alert signboards being put up at various car park entrances. I just saw one today and it has since kept me thinking if the Anti-Theft Cash Card IU Cover has actually encouraged the thief to try his luck to get his hands on many many loaded cash cards??? Anti-Theft Cash Card IU Cover is installed to keep cash card out of sight so as to prevent petty theft.

Do you actually have an Anti-Theft Cash Card IU Cover in your car?

If yes, is it because you do not want to take your cash card out every time you leave your car? Are you also worried that if you need to remove your cash card every time you are leaving your car, you will forget to put it back into the IU when you start driving and get fine for no cash card when you drive through an ERP? Hence, you rather have an Anti-Theft Cash Card IU Cover to keep your cash card that is in the IU out of sight so as to prevent theft, yet you can address all your above concerns too?

If you are thinking this way, does that mean that YOUR CASH CARD IS IN THE IU MOST OF THE TIME?

The thief must also be thinking the same way and so he strikes as he thinks that the probability that he may get his hands on the vehicle owners' cash cards is very high indeed!

Think again, if you really need a Cash Card IU Cover in your car?

Removing your cash card from the IU every time you are leaving the car and putting it back into the IU before you start driving can be done again and again until it becomes a habit. It is just like you need to remember to bring your car key every time you are leaving your home. It is not that difficult to get it into the habit system.

Talking about the habit system, I am suddenly inspired to start doing sometime else and repeat it again and again till it is in my habit system and it become my second nature. WOW! Thank you!

5 #Common Incidents suggest that buying #Travel / #Home / #PersonalAccident #Insurance is WU HUA! (Worth it!)

A lot of times, we will not want to get or may not know that we should purchase any General or Personal Insurance plans that are without any savings or cash values, as we think that it is a waste of money as we always think that we won't claim it anyway. However, do you know that there are many small incidents that happened during a trip, at home or when you are on the way to work, are claimable if you got a specific kind of General or Personal Insurance plan. All these small incidents will cost you some pain, time and money but most of the time, we just accepted it anyway, cursed a bit and took it in our stride.

I want to take this blog entry to tell you if you have yet to know, that with a small trouble of getting some small and straightforward General or Personal Insurance plan, you can actually take care of the pain, time and costs incurred by all these small incidents.

1. Flight Delayed! Time wasted!  > Can claim!
>>> Can claim under Travel Delay of a Travel Insurance Policy

2. Ouch! Sprained ankle accidentally > Can claim!
>>> Can claim under Outpatient Medical Expenses / Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) of a Personal Accident Insurance Policy

3. Slipped & fell on wet floor > Can claim!
>>> Can claim under Outpatient Medical Expenses / Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) of a Personal Accident Insurance Policy

4. Fell sick while travelling > Can claim!
>>> Can claim under Medical Expenses Incurred Overseas & Upon Return To Home Country of a Travel Insurance Policy

5. Pipe burst!!! Whole kitchen wet! > Can claim
>>> Can claim Home Insurance Policy for Loss or damage of Contents caused by Insured Perils

All 5 incidents sound so familar hor? Yes, these incidents are very common and they can happen to anyone.
Be smart, get insured and have a peace of mind!

My Best Value #CarInsurance Premium for Year 2014 so far >>> S$604.76

Today, I did a car insurance with the Best Value premium for Year 2014 so far; S$604.76 incl. GST, with own damage excess of S$500. The plan comes with NCD Protector, Zero Windscreen excess and Lost of Use benefit up to 14 days if repair period exceeds 3 days.

This car is a Japanese 1500cc car and the No Claim Discount (NCD) is 50%.
The car owner is in his early 40s, married and has an indoor occupation.

Actually, there is another car that just received the renewal notice and the premium is only S$593.66 with similar benefits.

All #gains attending a #FocusGroup Discussion

Recently, I came across a chance to attend a Focus Group Discussion with 7 other men. I thought it was going to be a go-through-motion kind of thingy; sit there for 2 hours, give your boring opinions and take the incentive and ciao. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the session and did not even notice that 2 hours was up that quickly.

The moderator was very good. She got us to do a short intro of ourselves and immediately lead the whole group into the main topic of discussion, broken away all ices almost at ease. The questions that she asked, allowed all of us to share our own opinions freely and the best part was, I have learned a lot of things from the other 7 participants. It was more like a sharing sessions on how each individuals do things and learn the good and bad that each has experienced. Better than reading a self help book!

It was so engaging that at times, one of the participants will plead for suggestions to help with his lack of experience in certain areas and someone at another corner will sound out, "Oh is it? So it is done this way." nodding his head satisfactorily. Laughter was always filling the room.

Almost to the end of the discussion, we were instructed to have a short discussion among the 8 of us while the moderator walked out of the room. The discussion was so smooth that we came out with enough content that the moderator was quite pleased of. I guessed it was simply because most of us were really enjoying the session and hence there was no difficulty at all to let the ideas flow.

I am grateful that this opportunity came along to allow me to gain some valuable knowledge from another 8 individuals, including the moderator. At the same time, still being compensated monetarily for my time spent in the Focus Group Discussion. Definitely all gain and no loss. Time well spent! Very good!

Almost #Accidents! Puuuuuuu..... ADD ON TIPS: How to deal with #Reckless #Drivers?

Recently, a toddler dashed out on to the road and almost got hit. The video went viral in the internet and I felt it is definitely the #1 Almost Accident that had happened in Singapore in recent years. Check it out again here.

#1 Toddler jaywalking at Bedok North Road, nearly hit!

Below is a short video tips on how to handle our driving situations when facing reckless drivers.
I think it is quite worthwhile to learn a thing or 2 from this clip. Check it out!

HOW TO DEAL WITH RECKLESS DRIVERS

BE SAFE!

#Drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists & pedestrians, please stand up and be respected!

Fetched my kids from school and was driving out of the car park .... both the car in front of mine & the other oncoming car just ignored a hand-raising school kid beside the zebra-crossing & drove over it. Waulau! Your son is treasure, other people's son is transparent huh!!! @#%

The above status was posted on my facebook last Friday, 2 May 2014, after I fetched my kids from school.

After that, I came across many many drivers who did not signal when they wanted to make a turn. Actually, there was an instance that a whole row of 6 to 7 cars did not signal when they are making a right turn. Yes, if the car is in the turning lane, it may choose not to signal as it is understood. However, what about the 6th and the 7th cars? These cars had already spilled over to  Lane 1 whereby the cars coming from behind may want to go straight and not turn right. Unfortunately enough, I was the 8th car and I am not turning right lor!!! So, I need to choose between switching lane or stop and wait till the cars turning right to move on lor!! Don't signal can save how much fuel? Wait till one day these drivers understand the real cost for not signalling. Someone may just do not have enough time or just due to some judgement error and hit their rear then they will know the time wasted and the hassle of claiming insurance and sending their car for repair.

I always believe no matter if the car is in the turning lane or not, all cars should signal and let all the road users including pedestrians, aware about the direction that they are heading towards such that safety can be better ensure. It is also basic courtesy to signal early to let all road users have ample time to react to the road situation in front of them.

Next, about stopping at zebra-crossing!
Drivers should always slow down and best of all STOP, no matter if there is anyone within their sight. Why?
I ever saw cyclists no matter children, old folks or just adults riding out from nowhere and crossed over the zebra crossing. The speed of a car is faster than the cyclist but cyclist is faster than a walking pedestrian so if the car do not slow down while approaching the zebra crossing, the driver may not see the cyclist coming from the side and it will hit it and the cyclist may fly with the impact! Imagine the IMPACT.

Yes, the cyclist is also at fault but when accident happened, everything will be too late to reason.

I write this blog entry with the hope that all road users, no matter drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists or pedestrians, can treat all others with respect, be more caring such that all can live in a safer environment.

#CarInsurance renewal not invited! How??? Panicked!!!

1st car accident on Aug 2013; at fault and total amount claimed was $6,932.80.
2nd car accident on Mar 2014; again at fault and total amount claimed was $13,314.00.
Car insurance renewal due this month was not invited by current insurer due to 2 car accidents within 1 year.

HOW??? PANICKED!!!

Call, call, call.....
Ask, ask, ask.....
Refer, refer, refer.....to me
I source , source, source.....

In the end, an insurer took up the case at a premium of $3,408.
The car owner is extremely relieved and satisfied.

I posted the above on my Esendsure facebook page.
LIKE the page to keep connecting with us. : )

This car owner is lucky that she still can get her car insured with another insurance company.
What if really not a one single insurance company want to insure this car, that had 2 claims within a year and added up to more than $20,000?
The contingency plan is to change the car ownership.
However, if there is a car loan, the new car owner need to get a new car loan to settle the existing car loan.
That means, someone from the same household, maybe the spouse or a sibling need to take up the car loan and own the car 'on behalf' of the original owner who has failed to secure a car insurance renewal then he drive the car again day in day out. This plan can work if the relationship within the household is good and at least one of the members has a valid driving licence.

However, what if the original car owner can't get someone to switch the car ownership?
Then LL, he got to sell the car and take taxi or bus lor.

TOO BAD!
So DRIVE SAFELY!

#Shopping & #Parking for #FREE on a Public Holiday and Sunday

Long weekend is here again!

My family and I will go Bedok Mall and Bedok Central to shop on Friday (Public Holiday). Where should I park? It will definitely be a long queue into Bedok Mall or Bedok Point car parks and the nearby outdoor car park behind OCBC will sure make me have a hard time waiting for any free lot, and all these car parks need to pay. So, I will normally dropped my wife and kids and I will go park at Bedok South Ave 1 multi-storey car park beside Block 3 for FREE and slowly walk and cross over New Upper Changi Road to Bedok Central.

Bedok Mall Carpark Rates
Car
All day (12 to 1159pm)
First Hour : $1.50
Subsequent 15 Mins : $0.40
Grace Period 10 minutes

We will normally stay from lunchtime say 12pm to evening 5pm that will be 5 hours so if I park in Bedok Mall, the ca rpark charges will be $1.50 + ($0.40 x (4 x 60 / 15) = $7.90. Saved!

After that, we may proceed to Katong 112 for dinner. Again, a long queue into its car park. So, I will dropped my family and I will drive to Tembeling Road and park along the parking lots beside the private houses. The parking lots are free daily from 5pm to 1030pm as well as whole day on Public Holiday and Sunday. However, getting a lot may not be as easy as in Bedok during dinner time so got to get there before 6pm.

Katong 112 Parking Charges – Electronic Parking System (EPS)

Saturday /Sunday and Public Holiday
0600hrs to 0959hrsFirst hour : $0.54
Every subsequent 15 mins : $0.16
1000hrs to 2059hrsFirst 30min  : $1.28
Every subsequent 15 mins : $0.65
2100hrs to 0559hrsFirst hour : $0.54
Every subsequent 15 mins : $0.16

We will normally stay from dinner time say 6 pm to 10 pm that will be 4 hours so if I park in Katong 112, the carpark charges will be $1.28 + ($0.65 x (2.5 x 60 / 15) + ($0.16 x 60/15) = $8.42. Saved!

Total Saving on Friday = $7.90 + $8.42 = $16.32

Saturday will be kids' tuition day so I will drive them to tuition and back for nap in the afternoon then dinner at home. So not going elsewhere.

I will start early on Sunday, going to church at The Star Vista from 730 am to 1130 am. However, getting a car park lot will be tough so I will park at Ghim Moh Link multi-storey car park. Then, slowly take a short walk crossing over Commonwealth Avenue West to Star Vista.

The Star Vista Carpark Charges (inclusive of GST)

Car*
  • Sun
  • 12.00am – 11.59pm: $2.14 for 1st hr
  • $1.07 for every subsequent 30 mins or part thereof

I will normally be in The Star Vista from 730 am to 1130 am so that will be 4 hours and if I park in The Star Vista, the car park charges will be $2.14 + ($1.07 x (3 x 60 / 30) = $8.56. Saved!

I will then drive home and pick up my family and we will head to Suntec City. Lots of car park lots in Suntec City but since I have been saving on car park charges, I will carry on to save further and again dropped my family at Suntec and I will drive to Arab St and park my car there for free again.

Suntec City Hourly Charges (incl. GST)

Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays
7:00 am to 12:00 midnight                         $1.10 per hour or part thereof
12:00 midnight to 7:00 am the next day      $1.10 per hour or part thereof

We will normally have our lunch and dinner in Suntec and spend almost the whole day shopping there or Marina Square so we should be there from 1230 pm to 930 pm that will be 9 hours so if I park in Suntec, the car park charges will be $1.10 x 9 = $9.90. Saved!

Total saving on Sunday = $8.56 + $9.90 = $18.46

Overall saving on both Friday and Sunday = $16.32 + $18.46 = $34.78
This amount is almost equivalent to the cost of a lunch in Suntec City or half tank of petrol for my car.
I enjoy saving $!
Oops, why am I telling you my free car park lobangs.....?
Actually there are more and you may know more free car park lobangs. Share leh... : )

I LOVE #Singapore Football: #LionsXII lost, #Fandi said, "If I can play I will play, seriously."

LionsXII lost to Sime Darby 0-1 at home on Saturday night, 12 April 2014. Coach, Fandi Ahmad was clearly disappointed and felt that some of the players took things for granted and he does not know who is going to turn up to be his first 11 for the next match. Very inconsistent! Very bad for football...

Frankly, this has always been the biggest problem for our Singapore team. I applaud Fandi for being so frank and direct about his real feeling about our team. I felt he is spot-on with the issue and he wants to do something to change for the better for Singapore football. But, 1 person's effort may not be enough.

Why the players take for granted the opportunity to play for LionsXII or even the National Team? I felt nowadays, younger players has a better life in Singapore, so they may thought chances are so easily come by and they are the best and no one can replace them. Gen Y issue again? I bet so. What do you think?

Wake up people. Do you think you are irreplaceable?

Life is good in Singapore but if you do not relish your good position now, in the future you will regret. Singapore may be one of the best country in many ways as compared to other countries but our football is way below Asian best not mentioning World Class.

We need a bunch of risk taking young and talented footballers to come out, work hard and challenge the world. We need to give all aspiring football players a chance to have a shot in the sport. Talent scouting must be carried out in all the schools and neighbourhood for raw and 'hungry' talents. 'Hungry' in the sense that the kids may not be so technically skilled but his mindset is outrageously positive, strong and determined. Who is best to spot this talent? Surely, Fandi is the best person. He was that kind of kid and he has walked the success route personally. He should give his book, 'The Fandi Ahmad story' to every one of this players and all the potential young players. What is the best way to learn? From the actual person definitely.

Easy said than done, but I have faith that Fandi know what to look for in a talent and FAS need to give him as much support as possible to build a future Singapore team that is technically and tactically superior but also mentally very very strong to take on the World.

FAS need to wake up too.
Peter Lim don't buy Milan lah! Pump your money in and take over FAS. Bring in your best people and build a Liverpool, Barcelona or Bayern out of this Singapore team and let it shine in the World.

With all parties' passion in building our football then Singapore will definitely one day be one of the best force to be reckon with in the World of Football.

My brand new #car cost only $43,999 in 2006

Extracted from

CarBuyer Singapore complied a list called Toyota Corolla Global Price Index. (TCGPI) and found out that Singapore is still the most expensive country to buy a Toyota Corolla. From this list, we can see that the cheapest Toyotas in the world are more than 6X cheaper than in Singapore! ($135,988 divided by $20,741.46 = 6.56 times)
Check out CarBuyer Singapore article from the link below:
https://sg.news.yahoo.com/global-price-comparison-toyota-corolla-171720950.html

Money$mart concluded that this crazy high pricing existed because of the Certificate of Entitlement (COE)!
Aiiii

I actually bought my brand new Kia Rio 1.4A in 2006 at a very decent price of $26,999 ($43,999 - $17,000 rebates) as I registered it as an Off Peak Car (OPC), + $1,200 for leather seat. My monthly installment was $292 monthly. Later on in 2012, I switched it to a normal car plate by paying the pro-rated rebates of $9,000 and it is still manageable.

However, come 2016 when the COE expired, I will need to change car or switch to taking public transport again after 10 years. I guess if I am buying the same car brand new, I will still need to pay additional $70,000 to $80,000 and it should still be under financing (how to afford paid up?) and with the interest added, it is going to cost even more.

Siao liao lor!
Need more money to buy the same type of car!
Inflation?
But this inflation will be close to 11% p.a in average over 10 years!!! (2006 to 2016) Not mentioning the interest added.

I am wondering how much a HDB flat will cost when my son got married when he is 28 year old. (He is 8 year old now).....

However, I believe everything will comes around if you have FAITH!

I know what I have to do now, I’ve got to keep breathing because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring? - from Cast Away

I LOVE #Singapore Football: Sime Darby vs. #LionsXII, #KhairulAmri scored like #Suarez to win

Safuwan scored again to lead the LionsXII to a 0-2 away win against Sime Darby on 5 April 2014.
The match was entertaining and had lots of attacking runs and shots - if I am not wrong, a total of 21 shots were taken by both sides.

However, my most enjoyable moment of the match was when Khairul Amri sneaked behind the big defender after Shafiq Ghani lobbed a through ball forward. He stole the ball away from the defender, side-stepped and coolly slotted the LionsXII's 2nd goal. I noticed that Luis Suarez, of my beloved Liverpool, always like to sneak behind the defender and snatch away the ball from the defender for a beautiful through goal.

I guess Khairul Amri must have been watching the super on-form, Luis Suarez, performing magic week in week out for Liverpool, and hence he performed a ala-Luis Suarez sneaky run resulting in this 2nd goal of this match. If he can continue to strive for Luis Suarez type of excellence, LionsXII can defend the Malaysia Super League title in style. Not to mention having also the reliable and flexible Safuwan and tha pacy Faris Ramli.

Go Lions Go!

Do you have #HomeInsurance or just the normal #FireInsurance?

Recently, I have read quite a number of bad news about fire happened in HDB flats and coffee shops in HDB block (above image). Check out the recent news reported by The New Paper from the links below:
http://www.tnp.sg/content/neighbours-save-man-blaze-and-find-showering-sister-also-trapped
http://www.tnp.sg/content/fire-marine-terrace-coffee-shop
http://www.tnp.sg/content/gcfire

http://www.tnp.sg/content/kids-scream-help-grandpa-sleeps-during-fire
http://www.tnp.sg/content/family-lucky-escape-fire

Hence, I decided to write about Fire Insurance as well as Home Insurance. Aren't they the same? Some may ask.

Actually, they are different.

If you have a home loan in Singapore, it will come with the requirement that basic structural or fire insurance needs to be taken up compulsorily.

For condo or private apartment, the whole block may have been registered as a Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST) property, then it is the legal responsibility of the Management Corporation to insure the building and the common property against fire damages. However, the Fire Insurance taken up by MCST does not cover full home contents and your home renovations. This fire or structural insurance cannot cover your home in the event of burst pipes and theft too.

So is the same for the HDB fire insurance that costs only a few dollars for 5 years. It only covers structural damages to your home's interior or any HDB provided fixtures.

So do you know about all these before today??? If not, you need to take action.

Our home may be our most valuable asset and so we should protect it from any damages and destruction due to fire, theft or unforseen circumstances like bursting of pipes that can cause substantial financial losses. Hence, we also need to protect our home with a Home Insurance that provides comprehensive coverage for loss or damage to your renovation, household contents, personal belongings as well as personal liability.

With a home Insurance then can we have a peace of mind.

#Car CCTV cameras up at 10 spots in Singapore to enforce illegal parking

Hi drivers,
Be careful if you decide to park anywhere for your convenience!
From 14 April, Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs) will be used at 10 locations to enforce against illegal parking. This expansion follows after the successful trial at Marine Parade Central and Beach Road where the use of CCTVs have resulted in improved traffic conditions in the area.
The 10 locations are:
• Beach Road (near Golden Mile Complex
• Marine Parade Central (near Parkway Parade)
• Upper Bukit Timah Road (after The Linear)
• Ardmore Park, Draycott Park (near Ardmore Park and JC Draycott)
• Commonwealth Avenue West (Clementi MRT, both directions)
• Serangoon Central (Serangoon MRT, near NEX mall)
• Boon Lay Way (Boon Lay MRT, near Jurong Point)
• Bishan Road (Bishan MRT)
• Jurong Gateway Road (around Jurong East Central, near Jurong East MRT)
• Jurong West Street 63 (Pioneer MRT)
30 locations were selected for the installation of CCTVs, and these are primarily public roads which see a high incidence of illegal parking, as well as locations where the illegal parking situation impedes the smooth flow of public buses and raises safety concerns for pedestrians and other road users. The CCTVs at the remaining 20 locations will be progressively installed and are expected to be operation by the end 2014.
The CCTVs will be operational all day, and motorists are advised to observe the parking regulations and be considerate to other road users. We will continue to monitor the effectiveness of the CCTVs and review the need for expansion to other areas.
Frankly, I was booked once at Marine Parade Central when the camera was newly installed. I had always parked there around 10pm to 11pm to use the DBS and UOB atm machines located just outside the side entrance of Parkway Parade for the past years, as there is not much traffic by that timing. However, that night was the 3rd time I parked along that road after the camera was installed. Nothing happen to me for the first 2 times, so I assumed it was a dummy camera only, However, no 3rd time lucky, I got fined $70 just for about 10 mins of convenience. So, better don't try your luck. Obediently find a car park and park your car, unless you have too much money to contribute to the government.

There are 2 kinds of #carinsurance Buyers. Which kind are You?

Do you know that there are actually 2 types of Car Insurance Buyers; they are

1) Those who get a quote from just one company and might end up paying way more than they need to,

or

2) Savvy ones who pay rates considerably below the norm

If you have been casually following the news about the car insurance industry over the past few years, you could be forgiven for believing that rates have skyrocketed and continue to climb. The real story is that, as a result of relentless consumer and regulatory pressure on insurance companies and claim matters, car insurance rates in many cases have actually dropped.(See my earlier blog posting at

http://esendsure.blogspot.sg/2014/03/motor-insurance-premium-collected-last.html

Of course, don’t expect your insurance company to let you know you could be getting coverage for less. Of all the monthly expenses that can be reduced with some time and effort, car insurance tops the list.  But, of course your time itself is worth money. Most of the time, many car owners do not take the time to research if they could be getting a better deal.  It is a trade-off between perhaps paying more and spending hours of your time getting quotes from multiple insurers.

However, the possibility is, when it comes to car insurance, the savings to be had by doing a little comparison shopping can be huge – often hundreds, if not thousands of dollars!
More importantly, there are now many insurance brokers or individual insurance representatives make it remarkably quick and easy to get multiple competitive quotes, so that you can easily find the lowest quote.
Most people are amazed by the huge differences between the quotes and their current rate after they have tried the free service.
Bottom line: It is simple to find significant savings fast, and contrary to what many people believe – it is easy and cost-free to change insurance carriers anytime. Consumers are never locked into a policy for any period of time.
So, if you are interested but still not sure how this works or you simply want to get started to get more competitive quotes, send me an email to esendsure@gmail.com to find out more!

Stay Calm and Enjoy It #Liverpool #LFC #Suarez

Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspurs 4-0 during their English Premier League match at Anfield in Liverpool, northern England on March 30, 2014, to climb to the top of the Premier League for the first time since December 2013. This win fuelled the growing conviction inside Anfield that Liverpool can win a first English league title in 24 years. What a long wait it has been!

Luis Suarez scored the 2nd goal (his 29th goal this season) with a left-foot shot across the Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and into the bottom corner, making him Liverpool's highest scorer in a single Premier League season, surpassing the record of my all-time favorite Liverpool player, Robbie Fowler.

Now, both players are my all-time favorite players and both are powerful with their left foot and I am left-footed too but I have never use it in a match for a long time already. I only play kid soccer with my 8-year-old boy and some kids once in while. Ha ha!

With 6 matches to go including another 2 very tough home games again Manchester City and Chelsea, Liverpool will have to stay as calm as they can be and focus on each game at a time. If they keep on playing as a team and with its great bunch of individual who can turn on the magic and finish off the game, I believe Liverpool will still be at top of the table at the end of the season and we shall celebrate!

This dream is coming true!

YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE (#YWNA)

#Car Part 1 Aren't you worth much more than your car? >>> Part 2 Chun bo???

Part 1

Mr Speedy: How much is the car insurance premium for my Mazda 6?

Insurance Agent: $1,000 for this year.

Mr Speedy: Very good! This year's premium is cheaper than last year by $150.

Insurance Agent: Yes, because your No Claim Discount (NCD) has increased to 50%.

Mr Speedy: Ok! I will pay the full amount by credit card.

Insurance Agent: Thanks, Mr Speedy! By the way, do you have personal accident insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for yourself?

Mr Speedy: No!! Why should I have so much coverage? $1,000 annual premium some more? So expensive!!

Insurance Agent: But aren't you worth much more than your car?

Part 2

Mr Speedy: (Must think of a rejection line)....Oh! Actually, I love my car twice as much as myself. Ha ha!

Insurance Agent: I see..... (Thinking hard)
Insurance Agent: So that means you will pay $500 on yourself since you mentioned that insuring your car for $1,000 is cheap.
(Feeling excited) Ok! A personal accident plan with Accidental Death & Permanent Disablement benefits of $500,000 plus Medical Expenses benefits of $5,000 at an annual premium of $490 before GST, should work for you right, Mr Speedy?

Mr Speedy: Are you saying, I need to pay $490 a year to cover myself for $500,000 in accidental benefits? Hmm, I think it is still too expensive. (So easy to get me meh)

Insurance Agent: So Mr Speedy, how much should the premium be then it is reasonable for you?

Mr Speedy: I think I can set aside $1 everyday drinking 1 less cup of Kopi-O, since it has increased in price and my wife has also been nagging me to cut down on my coffee consumption. (Ha ha! Now, see how you can provide me with $500,000 coverage with just $300 yearly premium)

Insurance Agent: So that works out to be approximately $300 yearly.

Mr Speedy: Yes, you can say that.

Insurance Agent: Ok! I am proposing to you another personal accident plan with Accidental Death benefit of $500,000, Permanent Disablement benefits of $200,000 plus Medical Expenses benefits of $3,000 at an annual premium of only $299 before GST.

Mr Speedy: (Shocked!) Chun bo???

Do you think it is possible that this Insurance Agent can really come out with such a personal accident plan for Mr Speedy in Singapore?

Look forward to your polling comment.

I LOVE #Singapore Football: Perak vs. #LionsXII live telecast on 25 Mar cancelled. Check out the video highlights of the match here

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) announced the cancellation of the live telecast of the Malaysian Super League match between the LionsXII and Perak on Tuesday night.

FAS have stated that it is due to 'technical and logistical issues faced by the host broadcaster'. Malaysian cable network Astro is the host broadcaster of the Malaysian Super League and has provided local telco Starhub the broadcast feed in the past.

I was disappointed that I cannot watch this match live from my comfortable sofa and extremely angry with the broadcaster. Imagine if it is an English Premier League or World Cup match and the whole world cannot watch it because of 'technical and logistical issues'. You think this kind of issue will happen to these competitions? I doubt so. So why it happen in Malaysian Super League. Professional league right? Super for super jialat huh?

Anyway, still need to thank one of the media who took a video, edited the highlights and shared on YouTube then we can get to see how Safuwan Baharudin scored that superbly executed header in stoppage time to give our LionsXII this away win.
Final Score: Perak 0 LionsXII 1

Cheers!
Let's go for the League Champion!

Hello, I have just dented your #car...

Have you met someone who has accidentally dented your car at the carpark and leave a note on your windscreen to apologize and want to pay for your repair?
Or have you met someone similar to the one in the picture above? Wrote the note because someone was watching but did not really intent to pay for the damage at all?

Frankly, I never receive any note or met anyone before. I only met my car with a 'halfway dropping' bumper but I do not know who did it until today. There were many big dents, long scratches here and there all over my car body and the paint has all fallen off but I have no f#%king idea who did it?

So do you think there is really a kind soul who will really leave a note 'meh'?
Or have you hit someone's car and leave a apology note on the windscreen with your contact number, prepared to pay for the repair cost of the damage?

Share your story if you are that kind soul.
Share your story if you have met a kind soul before.
Share your story if you have received a similar as the above picture.

#Suarez bags a hat-trick! Simply amazing! #LFC

Luis Suarez blasted a hat-trick as Liverpool grabbed a remarkable 6-3 victory over Cardiff on Saturday, 22 March 2014. Suarez was the key to Liverpool's blistering performance and the Uruguay striker now has 28 league goals this season.

An audacious back heel from Sturridge picked out Suarez who ran into space and did the rest from eight yards. Brilliant goal and it is definitely my favorite goal of the game.

Luis Suarez is really a class-act and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge is one of the most lethal strike force in the English Premier League today, and if they carry on to produce the goals, Liverpool has realistic chance to win the league again after so many years.

You Win Never Walk Alone again...

I LOVE #Singapore Football: #LionsXII win PKNS 2-1 with quality comeback efforts, 22 March 2104

A brilliantly curled free-kick from 25 yards out by Zulfahmi Arifin and a left-footed strike from Faris Ramli allowed LionsXII to come back from a goal down to defeat PKNS by 2-1 at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday night. The win also ended LionsXII's two-game losing streak in the Malaysia Super League.

Although the defence still looks very shaky but I am heartened by the flowing soccer that was displayed. The match was won due to a good passing move from several players and a strike that is shot with the single-minded aim to be on target. The comeback effort is definitely to be applauded and we must carry on to be behind our team so that they can continue to produce this type of quality play week in week out.

Go Lions go!

Let's win the Malaysia Super League again!

#Motor-insurance avg. premium collected last year was $1,250, down from $1,280 in 2012

The average motor-insurance premium collected last year was $1,250, down from $1,280 in 2012. Furthermore, insurers made their smallest payout in motor-insurance claims in 5 years last year. They paid $712.4 million in claims, $29.7 million less than the $742.1 million the previous year.

Reason? Measures to tackle inflated or fraudulent claims, such as its Motor Claims Framework, are taking effect.
Implemented in 2008, the scheme requires motorists to inform insurers of accidents within 24 hours and makes it mandatory for insurers to conduct pre-repair inspections.
Mr Derek Teo, executive director of GIA, said: "It's now more embraced by motorists. In the beginning, motorists were not so used to it so not many adhered to it."
He added: "Timely reporting gives insurers a better chance to investigate."
Inspections by third-party insurers before the repair works start also cut down the chances of cheating and inflated claims.

So what does this mean to us?
I hope our car insurance premium will fall much more year on year.
However, I also believe that it is our responsibility as an individual driver, to drive defensively and safely to reduce the possibility of an accident on the road. As such, then insurers will have less claims and they should be able to pass on the some of their profit margin to us such that all motor-insurance premium will be lowered.

In summary, if we hope our car insurance premium can drop to a lower level that deem more affordable and reasonable to all of us, we also should do our part by

1) Report any accident timely, but touch wood, hopefully no need to report forever will be best.

2) Drive defensively and safely to reduce the risk and possiblity of accident on the road.

Happy driving!

#MH370 Speculations on the internet closing in? 'Stalked SIA flight to the north through India airspace' ; '3 airports in India are in the flight simulator software'???

'Stalked SIA flight to the north through India airspace'

According to The Malaysian Insider, a Reddit social network contributor named "Sweeperguy" and hobbyist pilot Keith Ledgerwood suggested the theory that lost Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200ER had shadowed the Barcelona-bound SQ68 for most of the seven hours it remained in the air.
Sweeperguy said if MH370 had followed SQ68 along a north-west path over India, which he speculated, the missing passenger jet would be near the SIA jetliner over Pakistan five hours from its last known position at 2.15am.
"So, by closely following SQ68 at a similar altitude and speed, it's likely that any Indian radar operator would not notice or question two closely placed primary radar returns as long as he had the expected squawk from SQ68," he added.
In his Tumblr post, Ledgerwood came to the same conclusion that flight MH370 had flown to all the navigational waypoints disclosed by the Malaysian authorities until it was near the vicinity of SQ68 at about 2.15am.
He said it became apparent that when inspecting SQ68’s flight path history that MH370 had positioned itself directly behind the SIA plane "at approximately 18:00UTC and over the next 15 minutes had been following SIA68".
"It is my belief that MH370 likely flew in the shadow of SIA68 through India and Afghanistan airspace.
"As MH370 was flying 'dark' without transponder / ADS-B output, SIA68 would have had no knowledge that MH370 was anywhere around and as it entered Indian airspace, it would have shown up as one single blip on the radar with only the transponder information of SIA68 lighting up ATC and military radar screens," Ledgerwood wrote in a post that has gone viral.

'3 airports in India are in the flight simulator software'

Another Yahoo News posted The Malaysian Insider report, that investigations into the flight simulator taken from the missing pilot's home showed a software for five practice runways, including one belonging to the United States, Berita Harian reported today.
"Among the software we checked so far is the Male International Airport in Maldives, three airports in India and Sri Lanka, and one belonging to the US military base in Diego Garcia. All have a runway length of 1,000 metres," a source told the Malay daily.
Click the link below for this piece of news.

Are all these speculations really piecing the puzzles up and are we closing in nearer to the missing plane?
Why did someone want to go through so much hassle to detour the flight towards this direction that is being speculated wildly online?
If there is a motive, let's hope it will keep the passengers and crew alive for negotiation towards a win-win outcome. I am hopeful.
Let's carry on to pray for #MH370

#Suarez is my NEW Robbie Fowler! #LFC

Luis Suarez scored the 3rd goal to seal today's away match against Manchester United. The match ended Manchester United 0 Liverpool 3. The first 2 goals were both scored by Steven Gerard from the penalty spot.

Liverpool has definitely made the correct and worthwhile effort to keep Luis Suarez after the 'Bite' incident in 2013. He is definitely a World-Class striker and he is going to be another Liverpool legend in the likes of Robbie Fowler (my all-time favorite player), Ian Rush and John Aldridge. However, I felt Suarez is much stronger physically and he is insanely passionate about the game. His passion has overflown so much so that he bit and abused in attempt to win a game, although it is morally wrong in this world and we should only learn from his mistakes.

Like any other individuals, no matter a successful sportsman or businessman or actors, when he is passionate about his career, he shown it with his outward attitude and his every efforts that he made, is single-mindedly towards 1 goal, that is to be spot on his goals for SUCCESS.

His energetic performances and achievements never fail to inspire me. I am constantly learning and striving to embrace this passionate attitude and turn it into realistic actions and hopefully consistently successful results.

Kudos to Suarez!

Another video below is about Robbie Fowler and do check out the similarities of the 2 of my favorite players of all times. Both have instinctive visions and strike power to score amazing goals as they not only use their eyes and legs but their hearts to play the game. Enjoy!
