Mr Speedy: How much is the car insurance premium for my Mazda 6?
Insurance Agent: $1,000 for this year.
Mr Speedy: Very good! This year's premium is cheaper than last year by $150.
Insurance Agent: Yes, because your No Claim Discount (NCD) has increased to 50%.
Mr Speedy: Ok! I will pay the full amount by credit card.
Insurance Agent: Thanks, Mr Speedy! By the way, do you have personal accident insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for yourself?
Mr Speedy: No!! Why should I have so much coverage? $1,000 annual premium some more? So expensive!!
Insurance Agent: But aren't you worth much more than your car?

#Car Wear Sunglasses over your spectacles for driving
When you are driving, polarized sunglasses eliminate the glare that reflects off flat surfaces and interfers with vision. Polarized lenses in bronze, copper and brown are ideal. These colors absorb blue light that the human eye finds difficult and uncomfortable to use. They also make it easier to see traffic and brake lights.
Only recently then I came across the "fit over glasses" sunglasses at Iseten Departmental Store. It looks nice enough to wear over my spectacles and it almost completely covered up the spectacles. I think it's Cool!
Most importantly, it protects the eye and it makes driving on a hot sunny afternoon safer.
All the while, I always think that those clip on sunglasses lens are so "Ah Peh" (old folk) looking. Frankly, a lot of "Ah Peh" likes to wear that but at least they protect their eyes lor. But for me, I rather not wear and I guess I cannot let this goes on and so this type of sunglasses definitely suits me. Now, I can wear it fashionably over my spectacles while driving or at the swimming pool watching my kids having their swimming lessons or just eye-drooling on some bikini girls sun-taning by the public swimming pool. Haha!
You guys should check it out too if you have not come across this type of sunglasses.
There are some local online merchants selling for $28 to $40, which are cheaper than that pair ($49) I saw at the departmental store.
Google yourself and you will find them easily.

I LOVE #Singapore Football / #S-League with English Premier League flavours
Since I have this blog, I decided I will spend some time every now and then to share my passion for Singapore soccer.
Actually an idea strike me last night regarding S-League.
+ Tottenham Tampines Rovers FC
Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC are the other 2 football clubs that I have been supporting since I was a kid. However, I only have 1 jersey that I bought and wear proudly. That is the Singapore National Team jersey. It is the first Nike jersey for the Singapore National Team.
It is always my dream and maybe yours too that Singapore can 1 day qualifiy for the World Cup.
I also have another dream that is to run or own a Football Club and be the best team in Singapore and Asia.

Actually an idea strike me last night regarding S-League.
Most Singapore football fans love English Premier League actions and support Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc. I am thinking if it is feasible for our S-League to approach these clubs to allow our S-League teams to be affiliated to them. Then, we will have
+ Tottenham Tampines Rovers FC
+ Manchester Home United FC
+ Liverpool Balestier Khalsa FC
+ Arsenal Warriors FC
+ Chelsea Geylang International FC
+ Everton Hougang United FC
+ Newcastle Woodlands Wellington FC
+ Southhampton Tanjong Pagar United FC
in 2015
In this way, 2 or 3 of the fringe players from each of the English clubs can be imported to Singapore to play in the S-League. Then, all the existing English Premier League fan clubs members in Singapore will start coming together to watch S-League matches at their respective stadiums and then enjoy the English Premier League matches screen "live" at the stadium. I believe S-League attendance will sure surge to record high. Every weekend, the stadium will then be packed with passionate fans enjoying a great time together with friends and family and hopefully a new healthy lifestyle and sports culture shall blossom.
Can work? Or is it just my dream?

#Car (accident-free) insurance premium upon renewal should be lower?
The above table is a random sampling of the data that I extracted from my records of the car insurance premiums for 2012, 2013 and 2014 (latest). Some of the cars have claim history for the last 3 years but have been accident-free for the whole of the last insured year.
Basically, it is found that majority of the car owners enjoyed savings on car insurance premium upon renewal but for some cars that are maintaining their NCD at 50%, experienced higher premium upon renewal. This may due to the claim experience of the car model population insured under the particular insurer or some other factors like aging, smaller population, etc.
As you can see, the savings are in double digit percentage most of the time if there is an increase of NCD by 10%, and this should be logically so. If your NCD increased by 10% upon renewal but the renewal premium is higher than the previous year, then you should find out why and it is time to look elsewhere for a better deal.
NO ONE WISH TO PAY FOR MORE unless there is acceptable reason.
